Compare daily work, custom sales logic, integrations and total running costs before choosing a commerce platform or planning a move.
Start with a real order
Follow an order from product data through pricing, checkout, stock, fulfilment and accounting. Include exceptions such as customer-specific terms, returns and international sales. This shows which platform assumptions fit your business.
Compare responsibility and flexibility
Shopify centralises much of the platform operation. A Shopware setup can offer more control over hosting and custom application logic, depending on the chosen edition and deployment. Compare what your team needs to own with what it would rather delegate.
Price the complete system
Subscriptions or licences are only part of the cost. Include implementation, apps or extensions, hosting where applicable, maintenance, payment setup and integration support. Validate required features and commercial terms for the actual proposal.
Do not migrate by catalogue alone
A move needs a plan for customer accounts, historical orders, gift cards, subscriptions and changed URLs. Rebuild a representative workflow first. If Shopware already supports a well-maintained operation, staying can be the more sensible decision.
