Choose a website platform around editing, functionality, ownership and the team that will maintain it over the next few years.

Start with the work the website must do

List daily editing tasks, languages, integrations, interactive features and expected growth. Then identify who maintains design and functionality. A platform decision without those answers tends to become a preference rather than a business choice.

Where each approach fits

WordPress offers an established publishing workflow and extension ecosystem. Webflow combines visual design and managed publishing. Next.js gives a development team control of the application and can connect to a CMS chosen for your editors. Each option still needs implementation and maintenance.

Compare ownership and operating effort

Ask where content and code live, how backups and exports work and which changes require specialist help. Include hosting, licences, plugins or apps and development support in the budget. A lower initial quote may hide recurring work.

Make the choice with a representative task

Try building a campaign page, updating a reference and connecting a real business workflow. Check the result on a phone and in an editor preview. Good search visibility starts with useful, accessible information; a platform name alone does not provide it.
