Sanity CMS: development, migration and editing
Sanity is a headless CMS. Content is stored as structured data in Sanity's cloud. Your editors work in Sanity Studio, which we set up for your team. The website builds its pages from that, usually with Next.js. Fields are named the way your team talks.
How your editorial team works
- Studio
- The studio is a dedicated interface for your content. We build menu, fields and help texts around your website. On request it runs directly on your domain, for example at /studio.
- Preview
- You see the page next to the form and click a text to edit it. Changes appear in the preview at once. Only approval makes them live.
- Approvals
- Drafts stay invisible until someone publishes. Depending on the plan, you can bundle several changes and release them at a set time. Every version stays in the history.
- Languages
- Translations live per field or per document. Your team sees missing translations at a glance.
- Media
- You upload images once. Crop and focal point are set in the studio. Sanity delivers every size to fit the device.
- Several people at once
- Your team edits documents at the same time. Everyone sees who is working on what.
What your next website could look like
See all work →How we set up Sanity
- Content modelWe define which content types exist and how they relate. For example services, industries, references and contacts.
- Studio for your teamMenu, fields and validation rules are built in code. Required fields and character limits prevent half-finished pages.
- Frontend and previewWe build the website in Next.js and connect the preview to the studio.
- MigrationWe import existing content by script, for example from WordPress. Images, alt texts and SEO data come along.
- TrainingYour team maintains the first pages together with us. After that it works on its own.

Limits and running costs
- License
- Sanity has a free entry tier. Larger teams pay per person and month. Features such as custom roles only come with higher plans. We work out the right plan with you in advance.
- Usage
- Each plan has quotas for requests, traffic and storage. A well-built website usually stays far below them. We set up caching so it stays that way.
- Hosted database
- Content lives in Sanity's cloud, not on your server. The studio is open source, the database is not. We review the data processing agreement and data location with you.
- New fields need code
- The content model lives in code. New content types therefore need a developer. In return the model stays clean and versioned.
Who this is for
A good fit if
- Your marketing team maintains a lot of content and wants to see changes beforehand.
- Your website has several languages or many linked content types.
- The same content should appear on the website, in an app or in other channels.
A weaker fit if
- Content must not leave your own data center.
- Your website has few pages that rarely change.
