Prepare the company information and review process behind a legal notice for a website serving Germany or Switzerland.

Identify the business behind the website

Start with the legal entity operating the site, its registered details and the person responsible for keeping them current. A trading name and a contact form alone do not give a reader a complete picture of who they are dealing with.

Prepare the facts for review

Collect the official company name, business address, contact details, representatives and relevant registration or tax information. Regulated activities can require additional disclosures. Have the requirements for your entity and target markets reviewed before publishing.

Keep the notice accessible

Use a clearly labelled link from the footer and keep it available across languages and page types. The English version should describe the same company and use its official registered identity. Contact details should remain usable without completing a sales form.

Make updates part of maintenance

A change of address, representative or business structure can make a previously approved notice inaccurate. Assign an owner and review the notice when those facts change. Treat privacy information and commercial terms as separate documents with their own scope.
